What a fantastic week back! Firstly well done to our Seaton Star winners! The teachers and children have been incredibly busy fully engaging with our new phonics scheme and Whole School Curriculum! Just look at what we have been doing:
Nursery: Welcomed the new starters who have settled in well and been learning ‘Wake-up, Shake-up’
Reception: Have been engaged in the new phonics. They have used old photographs, visited the local areas on the photos and taken new ones to compare all part of their Long, long time ago’ topic. They have used large apparatus in Gymnastics and even had time to get very muddy in ‘Forest School’.
Year 1: Have been exploring the use of ‘B-bots’ to navigate a map in computing as well as designing weather motifs as part of their Rain and Sunshine Topic!
Year 2: Have been exploring their senses and writing adjectives linking to the smell, taste, touch, sight and feel of different food- this formed a class wordbank. They have developed observational and sketch skills in art to draw flowers and then even time to learn the Yoga positions ‘Downward Dog and Child’s Pose’
A huge well done to Teachers and Support staff who are working tirelessly to implement this engaging and exciting curriculum.
